Pochampally ikat, is a type of silk that finds its origin in a small town of Andhra Pradesh (now Telangana) Features of this sari pallu & border crafted with multicolor very intricate and complex process abstract & flower(phoola) design with ikat woven work. Ikat weaving requires a lot of precise mental calculations, vivid imagination, many figure, patience, undivided attention, and dexterity of the hand. This form of weaving requires the most skill for precise patterns to be woven and is considered the premiere form of ikat. The amount of labor and skill required also make it the most expensive. Pochampally ikat sarees are famous of the geometric patterns on them.
