What is special about this sari?
Batik is an ancient art which uses wax and dyes to create a visual magic on Sustainable Fabrics. It is an art appreciated all over the world. Overall the process is one where firstly the wax is used for creating designs on certain pre-defined areas on the Sustainable Fabric. Secondly the Sustainable Fabric is dyed and then the wax is removed by scraping or by boiling the cloth so that the wax peels off. The result is a beautiful piece of cloth with some very unconventional motifs.
This saree has a pink color base in 100% Pure cotton Sustainable Fabric with Batik Work. Pallu and Border of the saree is painted on pink base with white and mustard batik work. Centre of the sari has a base of similar batik work with abstract design.
